After the tremendous success of ‘Annabelle’ released last month, now the makers have announced the release date of sequel of ‘The Conjuring’. ‘Annabelle’ was a prequel of famous ‘The Conjuring’ series which was released back in 2013.
‘Conjuring 2’ the sequel to 2013 horror film of the same name, will now land in cinema halls on June 10, 2016 instead of October 23 next year. Director James Wan is returning to the director’s chair for its sequel.
The original film came out on July 19, 2013, which struck many as odd since the prime placement for a horror flick is in the fall to capture some of the Halloween hype. Still, the film was a huge box-office success, raking in $318 million from a $20 million budget. ‘The Conjuring’ became one of the must-see movies of the summer. It even spawned the recent spinoff titled ‘Annabelle’ which has grossed $206.9 million since its opening, foreign media reported.
James Wan, who is also directing most anticipated movie of 2015 ‘Furious 7’, was terrified after discovering that ‘The Conjuring 2’ release date has been scheduled for October 23, 2015, as he need to promote ‘Furious 7’ extensively in a coming year. Now, the release date of ‘The Conjuring 2’ has been pushed forward to June 2016.
