Two Pakistani movies ‘Dukhtar’ and ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ which has been applauded by the Pakistani audience will now make its appearance on ‘South Asian International Film Festival’ later this month.
According to local media reports, two Pakistani movies, Afia Nathaniel’s drama thriller ‘Dukhtar’ and Nabeel Qureshi’s comedy thriller ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ are all set to be screened at the South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF). The festival showcases films from South Asia (i.e. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal) and also from within the Indian diaspora.
‘Dukhtar’ is a drama thriller which revolves around a journey of a mother who runs away with her 10-year old daughter to save her from child marriage. The movie also premiered on ‘Toronto International Film Festival’ before its official release.
While, ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ is a comedy movie starring Fahad Mustufa, Javed Sheikh, Mohsin Abbas Haider and Urwa in the key roles. The story revolves around the on-going political chaos in Karachi in a unique way. The movie hit theatres last month and is still going strong in Pakistani cinemas.
The 11th Annual South Asian International Film Festival will take place from November 17 to November 23. ‘Dukhtar’ will be screened at the festival on November 22 and ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ will wrap up the festival, being screened on November 23, which is also the closing night, media reported.
